About us at Mead Farm Cakes

The Mead Farm Cake Company began in our farmhouse kitchen, but it quickly attracted such high levels of demand from clients such as Albert Roux, Greens of St James's, The Wine Society and others that we moved production into a designated artisan bakery high on the North Downs above Canterbury.

Here we combine the finest ingredients with traditional recipes and baking methods to create wonderfully natural products for you to enjoy. We bake in small batches so that we can keep and eye on each cake to ensure that it is of a consistently high quality. There are no artificial ingredients or preservatives in our cakes and we use local products where possible, for example, chickens kept just 5 miles away lay our free-range eggs. (Lucky things, they live on a hillside with a beautiful view of Canterbury Cathedral below them!)

Our rich fruit cake, the original product, won a Gold Award at the Guild of Fine Food Retailers Great Taste Awards, and we like to think that all of our cakes reach similar levels of perfection.

Made to our Gold Award recipe, Mead Farm Cake Company’s Christmas Cakes provide the perfect finishing touch to your celebrations. They also make ideal gifts for foodies, and can be personalised to make them extra special if you wish. We supply many of these to companies who send them to their clients as corporate gifts.

Some of our cakes are available online, but if you would like a larger size or a cake made, for example, without alcohol, please contact us by email or phone. We will always try to offer a personalised service.

For personal collection or local delivery, we offer a practically unlimited choice of stylish celebration cakes, ideal for birthdays, anniversaries or any special occasion throughout the year. These cakes are supplied to both private and corporate clients.

We also make beautiful wedding cakes, tailor made to link into your wedding theme and of virtually any design. Call us to make an appointment to discuss your specific requirements. With this approach your unique cake will be specially made for you – no two cakes are alike!

We are truly 'hands-on' bakers who believe that cakes should taste as good as they look, and there is nothing so satisfying as the genuine pleasure our cakes give to our customers.
